DAY 1: FES – IFRANE – CEDAR FOREST – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
Around 8 AM, as agreed, our team will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes. We start with a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, known for its alpine-style architecture. We then continue to Azrou to explore the cedar forest and possibly meet the local Barbary macaques.
Next, we pass through Midelt, where we stop for lunch. Afterward, the journey continues via the Tizi n’Talghamt pass and Errachidia toward the lush Ziz Valley. We’ll drive through palm groves and picturesque landscapes until we reach Erfoud, a town famous for fossils and dates.
By evening, we arrive in Merzouga. Here, your camel guide awaits to take you on a camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After a stop to enjoy the sunset atop a high dune, continue to your well-equipped desert camp.
You’ll be welcomed with mint tea and cookies. After a delicious Moroccan dinner, enjoy live Berber music by the campfire and stargazing.
Overnight stay in a Luxury Desert Camp.
DAY 2: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE MERZOUGA DESERT BY 4x4 VEHICLE
Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, start your desert exploration in a 4x4 vehicle.
First, we visit nomadic Berber families living in tents near the Algerian border. Share a cup of tea and learn about their traditional way of life. Then head to the Mifis mine and Khamlia village, where you’ll meet the Gnaoua people and enjoy their soulful music.
You’ll have lunch with a local Berber family or in a village café—try the famous Berber pizza.
In the afternoon, we explore the oases of Merzouga and enjoy some free time for sandboarding or relaxation.
As the sun sets again, return to the camp for another night of traditional food, music, and desert magic.
Overnight stay in Luxury Desert Camp.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA GORGES – DADES VALLEY
After breakfast, take a camel ride or 4x4 transfer back to Merzouga village. From there, we head to Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional market and connection to the Alaouite dynasty.
Then we drive through Tinjdad and Tinghir to reach the Todra Gorges. Take a walk along the canyon floor surrounded by 300-meter cliffs—a favorite among rock climbers.
After lunch, continue through the scenic Dades Valley with its dramatic rock formations and ancient kasbahs. Arrive at your charming hotel or riad for dinner and rest.
Overnight in Dades Valley.
DAY 4: DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – HIGH ATLAS – MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we begin the journey toward Marrakech. Pass through the Valley of Roses and stop in Kalaat M’Gouna if you’d like to purchase rose-based cosmetics.
Continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Optionally visit the Atlas Film Studios and the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Next, we visit the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO-listed fortified village used as a backdrop in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch and some exploration, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), with stops to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views.
We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening. Our team will drop you off at your hotel or riad.
