At 8:00 AM, our team will pick you up from your accommodation in Agadir for the start of your unforgettable Sahara journey. We begin by crossing the fertile Souss Valley, surrounded by citrus orchards and the majestic Anti-Atlas Mountains.
Our first stop is Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital. Here, you’ll visit a local saffron cooperative, where you can learn about the delicate harvesting process and even purchase premium saffron directly from the source.
Next, we continue to Taznakht, renowned for its vibrant Berber carpet craftsmanship. At a cooperative workshop, you’ll observe skilled artisans hand-weaving intricate rugs using ancient techniques.
In the afternoon, we head toward Agdz, where the landscape transitions into a semi-desert. Upon arrival, we check into a historic kasbah for the night. You’ll have time to relax and explore the area surrounded by date palm groves and traditional adobe architecture.
Overnight stay in a traditional kasbah in Agdz.
Day 2: Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert
After a relaxed breakfast, we travel along the breathtaking Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves, Berber villages, and ancient kasbahs. Along the way, we’ll stop at selected kasbahs to explore their historical and architectural significance.
By afternoon, we arrive in Zagora, the famed “Gateway to the Sahara.” The desert scenery begins to unfold as we prepare for a camel trek into the heart of the dunes.
Mount your camel for a peaceful trek across the golden sands, guided by experienced camel handlers. As the sun begins to set, you’ll witness a stunning desert sunset from atop a high dune — a truly magical moment.
Upon reaching the desert camp, enjoy a warm Moroccan welcome with mint tea. Later, gather around the campfire for a traditional dinner, followed by Berber drumming, music, and dancing beneath a blanket of stars.
